Partial Solar Eclipse on May 31st, 2003, approx. 3:03 - 3:30 UT

A series of telelens photos documenting the rise of the eclipsed sun on May 31st above the fields near Niederleis, Lower Austria. At first, only the uppermost tip of the eclipsed sun rose above the horizon. Shortly after becoming fully visible, the sun again vanished behind a layer of clouds near the horizon, and stayed there duing the maximum of the eclipse. After it reemerged, the sicle appearently "turned over" as the moon moved across the sun's disk towards the other egde.
